I'm a fledgling member looking for advice on saving my impatiens. I've been bringing them into the house in the fall for several years cause I can't stand to see them die, and I've had mixed results. Mostly as long as i don't forget to water, they do okay and I take cuttings in the spring that survive outside but don't flourish.
Besides what to do with the mother plants, is there anyone who knows whether it does any good to 'feed' the water roots that form? I've tried adding a spoonful of dirt about every other day for a week or two before potting. I imagine the new little plants do better in soil with this diet, but I'm not sure.
