My Banana Plant is drooping and not looking well, but 3 bright new shoots have grown from the base. I want to repot the shoots, but after digging around the roots, have found out that they are connected to the main plant at the base like celery stalks. Does anyone know if it is possible to replant such shoots, and how to do it?

i haven't had much experience with banana plants but i've had similar situations with other plants and i've just sliced the shoot off with a sharp, clean knife, and plant the new shoot. it will probably have a root system of it's own. hope this helps.

yes you can take those "pups"off main plant and grow them out.I know I didn't have much luck with no knife.I used an axe.Its actually an axe for splitting wood but split banna pup just fine.be sure to get some roots with it and water alot to get settled in.I mulch mine& get a new leaf every week. They get droppy when miss their water.
least you lucky...you London you get good supply of water from sky huh. What zone is London?
