I know I need to repot my bamboo since I need to water it every day now. I haven't been able to find a pot that is small enough but bigger than what it is in. Several leaves turned yellow since my husband didn't water it while I was away for the weekend. Does this mean that I killed my plant?

I dont think you've killed your bamboo. Just keep it watered well until you find a bigger pot. I've had 1 or 2 problems with mine and it always came back.

If your plant is indeed so potbound that it needs a thorough watering everyday, then it would be OK to leave it sitting in a saucer with enough water to last for a day or so longer. That way it won't dry out while you are away on weekends until you get it repotted.
