We planted 4 Sissoo trees about a year ago. We live in Arizona. I almost killed them immediately by over fertilizing but thank goodness they seem to have recovered. At least two of them have and the other 2 are a little thin or weak looking.

The question I have now is that I just noticed that some of the leaves seem to be wilting. There are many turning brownish and even a few almost black. Also some very tiny leaves mixed in with larger ones, which could just be new growth but not sure. We have them set on a drip system so they water every three days (summer)- the trunks are getting thicker and the height is OK - but I thought they were faster growing than they are and now I am concerned about the brownish leaves.

Are we under or over watering? Is it a disease? When do these trees start to fill out and the branches get thicker? Am I expecting too much too fast from a 15 gal. Sisso tree planted just a year ago?

Any help and advise is appreciated.

Kathy
