Hello,
I got a Jade plant a few months back and now the leaves are falling off. I moved the plant outside about a week ago but now they are falling off even more. When the plant gets bumped about 12-15 leaves fall off or if the wind blows the same thing happens. Help I don't want to loose the plant. The leaves are green with red around the edges and I have found no bugs on it. Any advice would be helpfull.

Thanks Billie

Perhaps the plant needs more water, or less?? Also, check the roots. It might be rootbound. I don't know much about jade plants, but check some of the topics in the forum here, and you will find a horticulturist named Will Creed. He has an e-mail address, and I'm sure he could help you a lot more. Good luck with your jade!!!!

Leaves falling off a plant is a good indication that it is reponding to some sort of stress- wether it be sudden temperature changes, nutrition, moisture, etc.
Is there any reason to suspect that one of these changes has taken place?

Well let me see where to start. The leaves were falling off before I put it outside for the sun to reach it. But now it has absolutly no leaves on it. I read some on the internet about them and I think that it was getting way too much water from what I read. But now it has rained for about a week here in Alaska. So I am waiting for the rain to stop and for the soil to dry out so I can see if the plant will come out of this. When I got the plant it had little white flowers on it. I loved it. Now it is just a huge plant with huge limbs and no leaves. Thanks for the responses.

HI!
My jade did the same thing when I overwaterd it. Don't dispair, I gave up, threw it outside in the yard and about a month later, it was making new growth and survived, so I brought it back inside...
Lots of sun, good watering until it dried out did mine good (but I'm no expert)..good luck!
