I saved a rose hip (seed) from a rose that I had liked. How do you go about to start it? I've dried it out but do not have a clue what to do from there.

Collect the ripe hips in the fall and extract the seeds from the flesh. Stratify for 3-6 weeks in the refrigerator and sow them in plug trays in a coldframe. They may germinate in the first spring, but can take 12-24 months, so don't discard the containers. Plant out the seedlings when they are 2-3 years old.

(seems like a lot of work.....but might be fun!)
