After a 4 yr drought in SC, we have floods! The rose bushes given to me by my grandmother are suffering with severe black spot. When I use a fungicide, it rains again. There are few leaves now and blooms and limbs are dying. Can I cut the bushes back now in June and move the plants to soil not infested with the fungus? Or suffer through this year and move them later?

Hi Carol, i'm also from SC;so,i know what u r talking about concerning the drought, and now the "deluge".It's unbelieveable. We received another 2and1/4" over the weekend here in the upstate. As far as the the problem with the roses is concerned, did u read the discussion below, initiated by Loz,"Could it be fungus"? They talk about black spot. I have some roses i wish would be attatcked by black spot!! The bush produces yellow and red flowers!

Carol I just found a fungicide that they claim is waterproof but check it out first. Daconil by Ortho. I used this on my 20 roses couple days ago because I had the same problem plus rust. Moved to this house little over a year ago and naive about roses. Cloudy and drizzly this last week. Hope this helps but check it out first. Catlover Karen
