I have several potted Lantana plants on a balcony. About 4-6 weeks ago, most of the plants' leaves turned from bright/light green to dark purple. The changed plants otherwise seemed comparable to the ones with leaves that had remained green, so I figured this was okay. Last week I started Miracle-Gro treatment on all of the plants, and now suddenly many of the purple leaves are turning back to vibrant green.

Does this mean that the "purple" plants had become malnourished? Should I give extra treatment to the ones that aren't yet returning to green?

Check out this web site on lantana care. It didn't say anything about change in leaf color, but it seemed to be very thorough in explaining how to grow lantana successfully.U need Acrobat Reader to read it. http://www.agctr.lsu.edu/communications/pdfs_bak/pub2663lantana.pdf

I know some plants change leaf color due to temperature change, the amount of sunlight they receive, or due to make up of chemicals in the soil.
