Does anyone know how to bring soil PH from 8.0 to 6.5 withen about one week to last about 3 months. I have onions planted and they are growing but have many burnt or dead tips. I was told that the soil was above 7.0 PH and to use amonioum sulphate to readjust PH level. This may take a long time to respond. I read somewhere that vinegar could be used to bring the PH down very quickly. Can anyone help? The need for speed is to salvage the planting. As of now many of the soil nutrients are locked and not accessable to the plant. The plants will mature in a couple months. Thanks

Ryan, No quick solution. I used some Amonium Sulphate and sulphur powder. The powder takes about 6 weeks to hreakdown. The Amonium Sulphate does not do too well since you are restricted on how much you can apply. The plants are just now begenning to respond however most of the development and growing stage is past. It appears that I will get about a 40% yield. Lesson learned, plan ahead and soil test. Hope your situation turns out better.
