I learned a new way to use some leaves on my beds.load them into a trash can& get the weedeater and stick in trashcan and chopp chopp chopp.i did a few plants with like my fig trees and hibiscus yesterday and will go back and do the compost pile today as is lots of leaves there and will likely break down faster.just had to share a fun neat shortcut in the garden

Awesome idea Njoynit. [thumb] I was wondering if there was another way other than driving over them with the mower. I don't have a bagger (and don't want one), but was wondering how to chop stuff up! [nutz]

Hey njoynit,
That's a great tip...

(I should have that in my tips and trade secrets post)

I would emphasize maybe a metal trash can for that, not a plastic one...
*Hey, you never know!!*

I have sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
many leaves, I'd be old and grey doing that.
I do my mom's, mine and the neighbor on the other side of me her lawns in the fall time.
I am about to invest in one of those machines that go on the back of your lawn mower that looks like a huge box and chops them and sucks up the leaves too!!!

But what a fantastic [thumb] idea for some one with a small amount to do, or like you said with out a bagger!!!

its not a small amount to do....i actually learned you can sit down and do this at same time.I got 2 acres& been rolling wheelbarrells full 2 times a week to pile behind shed.my compost pile is about size of a full size truckbed but a lil wider.I spent 6 hours doing them up and am not done....i'm out of gas& oil..LOLI don't EVEN want to hear metal can with weedeater...plastic is enough.
I collect grass off neighbors yard.i mow her yard for her once a month durring summer and collect her clippings for my compost, plus she gives me plants for mowing her yard so is a nice arrangement
