There are so many varieties of Pecans. I suggest you call your local extension office. They are sure to be able to help you. We have one here in town, which is a very small one, so I KNOW Savannah has one. Good Luck!!!

mom54,
I didn't think about calling the extension office. I am not really in Savannah, I am between Guyton & Springfield. Your extension office would be more accurate than anything in Savannah!! But I will call the one in Springfield. I know there is one there. Thanks for the idea!

Hi, I forgot to mention that the extension service here has a tree sale. One year I bought Pecan trees. Of course I killed them. It was my first year here and I didn't realize how sandy it was. Poor things never got enough water.
If you call your extension service, be sure to ask them about trees for sale. They have been a big help to me. They will test your soil for you at a nominal fee. I should take more advantage of them then I do. They have all kinds of brochures, etc. Good Luck!!
And have a great New Year.
