Well, the traditional way to dry herbs is to hang them upside down in a dry part of your house (i.e. not a basement that gets soggy during rainstorms, because that would invite molds & mildew onto your lovingly harvested plant matter). You can tie several branches together, but not so many as to impede the air circulation.
I think there are more modern ways to do it, but I find it kind of romantic to see herbs hanging to dry in your kitchen. It looks old world and sweet. It also makes the house smell nice. Once they have dried out, it's smart to put them in an airtight container so they don't lose flavor.
You know, I have a lot of sage out front that I really ought to dry this year. Hmmmm....

I would love to read up some more on all the herbs and such. I find them fascinating! I have seen many shows, like on HGTV, for making things with the herbs. Someday, I'm going to have my husband make me a little barn for all those things, and make a little store in there. Something to look forward to sometime, when I'm not chasing kids!!! Weezie
