Bill, You are AWESOME! [kissies] [kissies]
These are the plants that I got for $.048 each off a clearance rack. Both seem to be doing ok, I have had them a couple of weeks now. But I need to know the best way to care for them through the winter. And the philodendron isn't a variety I have ever seen. Help?? [dunno] [dunno] [angel]

for Will,
these are the plants I asked about in an earlier posting and you told me you needed a picture to help me with the proper care. Please let me know!

JMouse,

The Philodendron is P. erubescens, sometimes called blushing Philodendron because of its redness. It has the same care requirements as other Philos. Bright indirect light; allow the top quarter of the soil to dry between waterings; keep tightly potted; fertilize sparingly.

I can't tell what kind of Begonia you have, in part because the photo is fuzzy and in part because there are some many different species and varieties. Prune it way back and get it into your sunniest window as soon as possible. Begonias don't fare particularly well indoors. Perhaps you can keep it alive through the winter until you can get it back outside in the spring.

Will, you are great and I am glad I went with my instinct! I potted down the philodendron (it seemed "lost" in the pot it was in) and moved it to my bathroom which gets good indirect light. It seems happy there and has actually put out a new leaf. The begonia isn't doing as well, but I think that is due to the fact I also moved it. I will be moving it back to where I had it. Thanks for the help! [clappy] [flower] [muggs]
