please help my rubber plant lost all its leaves so I moved it due to the fan and now it lost the rest of the leaves and some of the stalks are becoming mushy at the top. What have I done wrong and how can I fix it this plant is from my grandmothers funeral and I dont want to lose it.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but I think you have already lost it. The fan did not cause the leaves to fall off. Your rubber plant either was not getting enough light or it has been improperly watered. The problem apparently has been going on for some time during which the roots have probably died. If that is the case, then there is nothing you can do to save the plant.

If you want to try heroic measures, you can unpot the plant and look to see if there are any healthy roots remaining. If there are, let me know what you find and I might be able to help you from there.

I unpotted the plant and unfortunately I do not know what healthy roots on this plant should look like. They look like they did when I got it. They were all around in the soil and on top of the soil, they are whitish in color and are not brittle. Thanks for your help. I will try to save it if I can.

oops they are not whitish in color my typo they are brown and about 6 inches long or so but I think you may be right. How is the proper way to water these plants I couldnt' ever tell with this one the way it was planted if it was wet or dry.
