Gramma gave me a coral vine in a pot and I almost let it die. Now it has a few green leaves and is showing signs of life. How do I overwinter it?

Hi Jiffymouse, Your coral vine won't survive much below 25* F, so you'll need to harvest the seeds and plant again in the spring as your temps can go to 15* F. You could try a heavy mulch of pine straw or leaves about 12 to 18" thick.
* * * * When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Plants: 271 | From: Maryland zone 7 | Registered: Sep 2002

if it doesn't make it...........I have seeds. you coud try overwintering inside but not where would dry out.I've had one overwinter in a hanging basket.didn't flower or anything and I had my plants grouped together and had some on rocks in their water catchers, plus a humidifier

Ok, the temps got down to around 30 this week, so tonight, I brought the coral vine in the house. Most of the foliage died back in the last couple of days, but the "taters" seem to be ok in that they are snug in the dirt. I am going to put it in the bathroom (which gets the best light and is the most humid room in my house. Any other tips?
