I am a teacher and am looking for some unusual, but easy to grow plants for my classroom. Any suggestions???

Hello! Just a couple suggestions for unusual plants...the Venus flytrap, and another one called a prayer plant. There is a plant called a burro's tail that looks unusual, too.

Hi Lissa, You didn't mention which grade you were teaching, but.... Waaaaaaaaay back when I drove the school bus around here I adopted the third grade class and we grew mixed Coleus seeds (the variety of colors and patterns was a big hit, and a bit of trading ensued afterward) and we grew some Sensitive Plants (Mimosa pudica) They were a hit because the moved at a touch, but didn't last too long because they were touched a bit too much. The plants that survived, (the teachers and mine) produced awesome lil pink flowers!
