I moved into this house nearly three years ago and, in having my garden landscaped, was recommended to put a Bloodgood, Japanese Maple tree in front of my bay windows. The leaves are that incredibly beautiful wine red. HOWEVER I have been very disappointed because that color lasts for maybe a month at most in the Spring and from then on throughout the rest of the summer the leaves turn a dull part rust, part green color so that it always looks like Fall! I wouldn't have gotten that particular tree if I had known this. I have now been told that it can't take too much sun and that is the cause. Does anyone know if this is true OR is there anything I can do in the way of feeding that would keep the lovely color going.

Hello Diana, I'd like to Welcome you to The Garden Helpers Forum!!! There's a great bunch of gardeners here at The Garden Helpers Forum, I personally don't grow the plant you are asking about, but I'm sure some one that grows it or knows about it will come through.... Here is some care information from Bill's site here. Take a peak at that until some one swings around here to you. http://www.thegardenhelper.com/a~palmatum.html
I hope you enjoy your time here at the Garden Helper and come back a visit us often, ask questions, lend your advise, chat a while.
