I have a schefflera plant that I received from my Grandmother's funeral about 2 months ago. The plant was bushy and full, it started growing some sprouts and seemed to like where I put it. About 3 weeks ago alot of the leaves started turning brown and falling off. What causes it? And how do I fix it?
I could take a picture if it would help...

Almost anthing could cause the leaves to discolor. Is it new leaves or older leaves that are turning brown? How much light does your Schefflera get? Did you repot it recently? How do you water it? Have you checked for spider mites?

Viki,

I have a Scheff from my grandmothers funeral as well. Well actually I have managed to propagate it and have 3 now and gave another to sister in law.
They do like lots of light, can have direct morning sun, but not the hot sun in afternoon. Like Will said the brown leaves could be caused by numerous things. Occasionally I loose a leave. I would definately check your watering habits and the roots.
