Hi, I live on the west coast of Florida. I have a beautiful jade plant that lives outdoors in a pot in my front yard. My house faces the west so it gets really good sun, my question is; some of the leaves of the jade plant have a red edge to them, can someone please explain that to me. Thanks!

Jades that are grown in direct sunlight develop a red margin on their leaves. The green becomes a bit lighter than the green on jades grown in bright indirect light. The red is a sign of good health, not any deficiency.

Thank you Will, greatly appreciated!

Another question, would that color change apply to other succulents as well? Thanks!

My neighbor gave me some small leaves with roots on them from a Jade plant. She had them in water, can I still plant them and if so what kind of soil?

Plant them in a combo of either pearlite and regular soil or sand an soil is what I've potted mine in and apparently they are healthy. Cindy
