I bought a 2 ft rubber plant last september and for the last four months it has been drooping and appears unhealthy. I repotted it soon after I bought it and I fertilized it once, but did not repeat b/c I was worried that the fertilizer was the cause of my plant's ill health. Right now it sits in front of a window that receives medium light / partially obscured. I give it 1 qt of water every 1-2 weeks.

Any theories or advice on how I can revive my wilted plant?

I know this will come as a surprise, but the repotting is the likely cause of your plant's problems. Unnecessary repotting is the single most common cause of plant woes. The excess soil stay moist for too long and cause gradual root rot.

It maybe too late, but all you can do is to undo the repotting by removing the soil that you added and putting your plant back into its original pot.

Good luck!

thanks for your advice - unfortunately i don't have the original pot (it was just a plastic temporary pot. would you recommend that I remove some of the soil from the bottom of the current pot? Is there anything else I can do?
