I have a very nice 15 year old jade that suddenly started loosing its stems. They fall off at the "stem joints". There is new growth at these areas, but the plant looks smaller because it is loosing large peices of stems. Nothing new has been done with this plant..same location and watering for the past many years. Hope you can help!

The problem may be that the stems are too heavy. If this is the case, you may have to supply the plant with some support.
An ailment of Jade plants is sudden limb breakage. Limbs fall from the plant without warning, it just happens, but it can also be caused by a stem rotting disease. This is usually a sign of overwatering.
