I purchased a brand new home and have a bird of paradise in the front, west side. I have looked online for info on fertilizers and seen many variations from feed every two weeks to neglect them. I have been feeding them a 10-10-10 slow release every three months but my BOP is looking sad, no blooms and I feel I need to do more. Any suggestions to supplement or not? Also, the BOP is surrounded by green liriopes. I appreciate any help! Plants: 1 | From: Riverview, FL | Registered: Jul 2003

Hello, FLBarb! Golly, finally someone who lives in my neck of the woods!! I'm afraid I know absolutely nothing about BOP, but we have a horticulturist who gets on here, and he's very helpful. His name is Will Creed, and if you look through the forum, you will find his e-mail address at the end of his replies. There are also several people who are quite knowledgeable who will help you, just give them time to get on here. My best friend in the whole wide world lives in Riverview, and both of us are from the Lakeland area. Anyway, nice to see you on here, we can relate to the problems of dealing with the summer sun and plants!!!!
