We need more information. How deep and wide are the rectangular planters? Does she want trailing plants or upright plants? If upright, how tall? Does she prefer plain green, variegated or plants with color or flowers? Just how bright is the indirect light? Does she like to nurture and fuss over her plants or would she rather have plants that can be neglected from time-to-time?

And you thought selecting plants was easy!

the planters are 2 1/2 ft. long, maybe 1/2 ft. deep? just your basic planters. indirect sunlight comes from 2 windows facing north. prefer green, something that stands up, don't want to take care of it. (trying to help my daughter!)
