Ok, here's the thing. Our anniversary is on Tuesday and I've gotten Stephen his presents, but with everything that has been going on, I didn't plan anything for the day. I thought it would be nice to go on a picnic...only I don't know what to pack! (I'm sooo bad at this kind of thing!) Its hard to make a menu because we have different tastes...he likes balsamic vinegar, I hate it...he likes cilantro, I don't....we both hate tomatoes. So far on my list, I have wine (heehehehe.....which we could do pretty good with just that! ) and I have some apples, grapes, and plums that I can pack. Also, I wanted to use a box of Carr's table crackers that I have. I thought maybe make a small amount of tuna salad to snack on with the crackers...BUT...your not really supposed to pack things with mayo for a picnic b/c it can go funky. So....does anyone have ANY ideas that I can use for our picnic??
I'm planning on making pasta salad that he likes and was thinking about doing a few deviled eggs also.
I'm going to prepare everything on Monday because Stephen works and then has class until at least 8:30, so I have time to do things without him knowing it.
Also, should I chill the wine??? I don't usually drink it...its usually too dry for me. But I finally found one that I like.

Assorted Cheeses, and some crab dip would make a great combination with the wine and fruit. Then followed with some chocolate covered strawberries for dessert....

The crab dip sounds really good....and I just got some cheeses at the store!!
I knew I forgot to mention something up in the first post. No strawberries....I can make a couple for him, butI can't eat them because I'm allergic to them. Nothing citris for me (oranges, grapefruit, strawberries). Its because of that and our lack of liking the same things that makes this hard! Any ideas as for a "main course"?

Maybe some thin sliced deli meats, pepperoni, turkey, ham or chicken. All are good on crackers with a variety of cheeses. Fried chicken might also be an option. You could pick up some apple fritters or fruit danishes for dessert.

I didn't give him a choice. That's how you do it. I said, "since you didn't make plans for Tuesday, I did....at least for an hour and a half" and then I told him that we'd be hungry after thedr. appt. and that I'm planning a picnic. He said "oh...ok"...but not in the mopey tone that I was half expecting. Haha....and he's going and he going to be happy because he doesn't get his present until AFTER we eat our lunch!!! And, no, its not bribery!! Bribery is a reward for doing something bad...

Ok, so we just got back fom our picnic. It was really nice. We found a nice shaded picnic table. This is what I packed...deviled eggs, tuna fish with Carr's Table Crackers, pasta salad, chicken salad that went onto tortillas (lettuce to go with it), and for dessert little pies. We ended up stopping on the way and buying saoda and water for our drinks. I told Stephen to stop at the liquor store for wine on his way home from class lastnight but he went to one that closes early and he couldn't get any. No biggie tho.
For my present, I got a new watch (Jiffy, I totally nailed it with his clue!!!). Its a Citizen and he has a matching one also. I got him 2 oil filter wrenches from JC Whitney and then a Lego Millenium Falcon.
