Also known as ice tea...

I know I watched my mom make it a thousand times as a child...but I cannot get it 'right'! [thinker]

How many tea bags do you use? [dunno]

We do not see things as they are, we see things as we are.

I have an old pickle jar that I fill up with water and then add 12 tea bags and a handful of peppermint leaves. Set it out in the sun until I remember to bring it in-usually a couple of hours. [grin]

Yep, I use 12 teabags also. (Luzianne)
I had always used Lipton, but my daughter kept telling me that Luzianne was better for iced tea.

Sun tea is soooo mellow!

My mom has a one gallon jar that she put 4 family sized tea bags in and leaves it out pretty much all day. To tell you the truth, I can't tell the difference when it's made by putting 2 family sized tea bags in a 12 cup coffemaker and pours it over ice which melts/dilutes it to right mixture (and take about 5 minutes). I always thought the key to it tasting right was to start with good water. If i use tap water it turns out cloudy-tastes funky, filtered water (brita) seems to make the difference. [grin]
