2 cups sugar 2 cups flour 2 eggs 2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 cup chopped nuts 1 mashed ripe banana 1/2 cup coconut 1 tall can crushed pineapple (undrained)
Mix all ingredients in large bowl by hand until well blended. Pour into 9 X 13 greased pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Cake will spring back when lightly touched in middle when done.
For a special treat, top each serving with Cool Whip!

I am making this cake today to serve to our dinner guests tonight.
My son doesn't like coconut (can you imagine?) so I am deleting the coconut and will add diced Marischino Cherries instead.
It'll still have that tropical flair and a bit more color.
I'll let you know what everyone thinks of it.
