This is always a hit and I rarely have leftovers [thumb]

Bacon-Swiss Tossed Salad

1 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
6 cups mixed salad greens(use one bag of prepackaged salad,of your choice)
1 medium red onion-chopped
1 8 ounce package of swiss cheese-chopped
1 pound of bacon-cooked and crumbled
8 ounces of your veggie of choice...peas,cucumber,mushrooms,etc.(you don't have to add any if you don't want to)

In a small bowl mix mayonnaise, sugar.salt and pepper. Set aside.

In a 1 1/2 quart bowl layer half of salad greens, half of veggies(if using),half of the red onion, half of the swiss cheese and then half of the mayo mixture. Repeat layers.

Cover and refridgerate 2 hours. Add bacon and toss. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

People will not be able to guess what kind of dressing is on this. I've had people guess Caeser,Ranch and Italian. The swiss cheese lends its flavor to the mayo mix,for a delightful new taste [thumb]

Hope ya'll enjoy it [thumb]

that sounds so yummy G-mom. I think I'll have to try that the next time I do a salad. I love the red onions in a salad. Are the romaine/spinach leaves ok for this?

Sure [thumb] You can basically use any greens that you would normally use in a salad.

Not yet but I'm going to. I'm so funny, I do salads during the summer but then don't touch them again until the next summer. Why I haven't a clue I've just always done that.
