Some of you may have seen these before. I made them last year and they're pretty good!

GOURMET REINDEER POOPS

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 cups granulated sugar
3 cups oatmeal, not instant
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
2 teaspoons cocoa

Mix butter, sugar, milk and cocoa together in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients. Drop by teaspoonful (larger or smaller as desired) onto wax paper and let harden. They will set up in about 30-60 minutes. These will keep for several days without refrigerating, up to 2 weeks refrigerated, 2-3 months frozen. Pack into zipper sandwich bags and attach the following note to each bag:

Gourmet Reindeer Poops

I woke up with such scare when I heard Santa call...
"Now dash away, dash away, dash away all!"
I ran to the lawn and in the snowy white drifts,
those nasty reindeer had left "little gifts".

I got an old shovel and started to scoop,
neat little piles of "Reindeer Poop!"
But to throw them away, seemed such a waste,
so I saved them, thinking you might like a taste!

As I finished my task, which took quite awhile,
Old Santa passed by, and he sheepishly smiled.
And I heard him exclaim as he was in the sky...
"Well, they're not potty trained, but at least they can fly!"

I love this....I'm making some of this for sure for my niece--we watched Rudloph on DVD the other day right? So then my hubby is sitting over on the couch eating a snack....she decides she wants some....well it's deer meat.....so I told her what it was and that she probably wouldn't like it(she's 3)....she got really quiet for a minute, then looked at me and said....is he eating Rudolph????? [Big Grin] She'll just love thinking she's eating reindeer poop.....and I'll love telling her that.... [Razz]

Thanks Corgie for the poop recipe, I've never seen them before and I havent been on for while and just dropped in here to check out a few recipes and there was yours. I had a bunch of baking to do for a church bake sale so I made up eight little trays of the with the poem taped on top. To soften it for a "church function" I named it Gourmet Reindeer Poo. Everyone got a good laugh out of them. Thanks Again!
