Nertera granadensis... The Pin Cushion Plant is a fast growing tropical plant that produces an abundance of tiny orange berries just in time for halloween!
Pin cushions require full sun or they will produce a lot of foliage and very few berries. They should be planted in a rich, loamy soil and given a half strength dose of a good all purpose fertilizer in early spring and mid summer. Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy. Never allow the pot to stand in water!
Pin Cushions enjoy spending the summer months outside in a sunny location, but must be moved back indoors before the temperature drops below 55 degrees F. It should be kept in a sunny location with a room temperature of 65-70 degrees... When active growth slows during the winter, watering should be cut back.

Karen, I used to paint faces when I was working, tough thing was, it takes a few hours for some of the ones I did. I would get booked starting at noon sometimes for Halloween day, then do my face and work all night. Long, long day!!! But it was fun. I tried doing my son's face like that for school but the Kindergarten teacher just kind of looked at me and haven't done it since. I didn't want to scare the little wee~ones!!! I always wanted to go to Hollywood when I was way younger and be one of those people that get paid big money on movie films for doing that! In my next life I can do it....Oh, with all those props and things that would be sooooooo much fun! I think anyways.
