Hi I just heard that I'm getting a baby orchid. I'm very excited but I don't know a thing about orchids except they need some special stuff. Can some one help me make a list of all the stuff I need for my new baby. I want to be ready when it gets here.

Thankyou for your help.

I can't believe nobody's answered you! I know almost nothing about orchids except they like a fairly large day/night temperature difference to bloom, and lots of humidity. I don't even know a good site to point you toward. I'm more of a xeric plant person, but best of luck with your new baby. Baby pictures are always good to share [Wink]

I read it. I understand I need a special soil mixture and a special fertilizer. Other than that I need a humidity tray. I'm not sure how I'm going to get the changes in temperatures though. unless I move it from the window in the livingroom (warm) to the bedroom at night (cold)a/c. Does it sound like that will work?
