I have two gardenia bushes in my front yard (right by my front door, very visible!) that have lost almost every leaf. They are just brown sticks with the occasional yellowing leaf and the occasional bud. The buds have never bloomed fully. They get afternoon sun, and have had plenty of water. What can I do?

Thanks for your responses. Wondering if the direct afternoon sun could be a problem? I am going to try some miracid mulching...wish me luck!
-could also go by the term "black thumb"!! [Smile]
