hi stuart! welcome to the garden helper [wayey]

to store seeds, i put mine in a plastic shoe box (in the individual packets) and just make sure i mark which year they belong to. i put a couple of the silica packs like come in shoes, medicine bottles, and purses in with them to keep them dry. i can usually get a second or third year out of the seed packets. but i am careful not to trade anything but the current year's seeds. so, make sure you label them. i have about a 15% reduction in viability from year to year.

Hi [wayey] Stuart,
Can you tell us what kind of seeds you have????

Some kinds may need to be sown now, and over
wintered out doors too!!!

Hi Stuart,
You know I've been meaning to get back to this post, *always a day late and a buck short, but lately it's been getting on a week late!!!*

Anyhow, let's see,
#1. Snapdragons, I'm firmiliar with the standard kind, they are okay to over winter in side, in a cool place...
Or even in my area, the seeds have been known to over winter outside, on the dirt, from the original plant. *Of course I have to add, where mine are a house/base planting, none survive in my back beds away from the house...**so I'd say up to a zone 6(ish)

#2. Purple Tansy: I had never heard of it, so I looked it up, Is this it??
Purple Tansy #1.

#3. Queen Crepe Myrtle; not sure, maybe Jiffy or one of the southern gardener's can tell you..

#4. Purple Coneflower; Can also be over wintered out side...

#5. Lemon Mint
Here's the link
Usually mints are pretty hardy

#6. Kaleidoscope Four O'clock
I believe those are annuals, should stay in the house, but someone who lives down south may also offer some info on them as well, I'm hopin'....

#7. Pink Spider Flowers
Are they these??
Pink Spider Flowers

Here's a bit of info from our forum;
Cleome info at TGHF
**in the beginning of this post, there's some tips on how to store some seeds.**

#8. Poor Mans Orchid Not sure???
Hopefully an Orchid grower may come thru???

#9. Yellow Jacobs Ladder;
I had never heard of that one either, I have the blue/purple ones' and white one's, the plant lives a few years then dies off, but relies on the seeds to over winter and resprout in the spring. I'll go look that one up too!!!
Sounds very pretty!!! I love the purple ones.
They smell great!!!

#10. Pink Crepe Myrtle; Not sure?? [dunno]

#11. Hardy Hibiscus Pink; Is this one a tree that over winters and rebuds in the spring, one that retreats back into the ground at fall/winter time and resrouts from the ground or an annual?????

Weezie

Hope this helps a little for you....

For one's like the Cleome, mine only over winter by the side of the house....
And the Cone flower Mother Nature just sprinkles on top of the dirt and they sprout the next spring.
