BANANA SPLIT PIE

1 (12 oz.) box vanilla wafers, crushed
3/4 c. melted butter
2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter
5 bananas, sliced
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
1 lg. carton Cool Whip
1 c. chopped nuts

Combine vanilla wafers and melted butter. Mix well and press into bottom and sides of 9x13 inch baking dish.
Combine powdered sugar, and softened butter. Beat on high speed 15 minutes. Do not under beat. Spread sugar mixture on top of crust and top with bananas. Cover with Drained pineapple. Spread Cool Whip over fruit and sprinkle with nuts & Cherries & Strawberries if desired. Cool thoroughly.
