pic bulb&flowers coming up! Finally!! Spring?

Seems like iv'e waited forever for some of these to come up especiall bleedinghearts I'm so excited [clappy]

Yes Weezie I mixed my first batch of compost in with the soils!!!I just put in ferns and hostas and more bleeding hearts, and bagonias and lillie of the valley now I have to wait on them but here's a start of the shade beds these are on both sides of the sidewalk leading to the door its about 15 ft long on both side so I had a lot of area to fill once it gets to growing good next year it should look preety lush but this year is gouing to be good IF everything comes up that Ive planted. I'm trying to do it in 4 wk intervals so I don't dig up something to plant something LOL

Nice pics, I remember the first year I planted my bleeding hearts, they never came up. Reason being I had planted them upside down. Ya live and learn. Now I have one that has to be separated. Gonna end up with quite a few off of it this year.

I've never had any luck with begonia's though. The front of my house is all shade. Have you tried Astilbe's yet. I love them.

tamera No I haven't tried astilbe how big does it get?? I'll have to check it out I know what you mean about upside down I have some in now I couldn't figure out which in was up it looked the same all way around!! so I'll wait a few week if they done do any thing I;; dig them up and look at them I do have those particular ones marked with sticks LOL!!

I love

Astilbe too! Mine get between 14-18 inches high. I have a red, white, and raspberry, but I would like to get a pink one this year. I just wish the blooms would last longer. [Frown]

Stretch your arms out in both directions as far as you can, and that is how big a bleeding heart can get..

You see this big open space, and these wee little plants, and think, I can squeeze another one here and there...
(I am bad on putting stuff close too)

Oh my gosh Weezie I had No Idea Bleeding hearts got sooooo Big!! some how I got the idea they were only knee high at best !!LOL And tonight I bought More to put it!! where or where to put the new ones [dunno]
