We just had a dump of snow in Victoria, BC, and it just so happens that my outdoor container plants got hit! My geraniums and bleeding heart froze, and what I'm wondering is, will they survive and come back to life? Should I cut them back to promote re-growth? Thanks!

Katienien,

The Geraniums will die, if too cold or frozen..
They're annuals...
And the bleeding heart will freeze but will come back, they're perennials.
Mine go dormant around the end of summer/fall time..
Where your's green right now??????

some geraniums are perennial and some are annuals. some are annuals in some areas and in warmer areas they will be perennial.

i'm not familiar with bleeding hearts.

any way you can post pics of your plants, katie? might be able to tell you what type of geranium you have.

That's true..
I should have asked what growing zone she was in..
But I didn't think anywhere's in Canada
would be able to over winter a geranium.... [Wink]
