Any idea what this may become? I do not think a monarch since it does not have white stripes. The kids have found dozens of them. If they will become something cool, what can I do to keep them fed until they make cocoons?

Triss this looks like the wollybear My grandson had to write a report on in school it does look striped but doesn't start out that way

These are not at all fuzzy so I thought for sure they were not that. Was kinda hoping for a really cool butterfly.

I could have sworn I had the Audubon butterfly book here....birds, warblers, birds, birds, sparrows, birds, hawks, herbs, ducks,...
nope. Not in my little insect guide. I'll look when I go to work. Where did you find it? Type of plant??

I found it. Papito sent me a link and in looking through its pics I found that I have a Cinnebar caterpillar. It becomes the Cinnebar Moth wish is a red moth. We have seen these moths all over the place here.
