I live in zone 4 southern minnesota and want to know what I need to do for gardenias and astibles for the winter?? Do I bring them in or can I leave them outdoors? Fertilize? If so with what. Cut them back or leave them?

Your Gardenia would never survive the winter, so by all means bring it back indoors. (more info)
The Astilbe can be left out in the garden. Cut the foliage off after it dies back. (more info)
Never feed your plants (indoors or out) unless they are actively budding or growing.
