Does day neutral strawberries mean a particular variety that isn't fussy about the length of day/number of sunlight hours? [dunno]

Means it will set fruit no matter the length of light or time of year- depending of course on outside temps. June bearing set a flush of fruit usally in June until july, then quit.

That's how I understand it. From what I remember, normal june and everbearer's growth and runner habits are in response to daylight amounts throughtout the growing season. Day neutral varieties, which are everbearing for the most part I think, don't follow these habits.
