Years ago when I was an inexperienced gardener I proudly planted a crabapple tree, imagine my disappointment when it never beared edible fruit. it is a 'Rudolph', a beautiful tree but it is ornamental.

This year I will plant an edible variety, I have 'Rescue', 'Dolgo' and 'Trail' to choose from, does anybody own any of these? I would like to know what would be the best to buy.

DH and I have to travel to a nursery 3 hours away to get one of these varieties so I want to make sure it's a worthwhile trip.

I've never planted any of these, but I know that Dolgo has disease resistant foliage.
