Japanese Weeping Cherry

I have a 10-12 year old Japanese Weeping Cherry in my front yard. It is a beautiful tree, with a trunk about a foot in diamter.

This year, some leaves started turning brown on a couple limbs, then quickly, all the leaves on that limb died. A second limb is now exhibiting the same symptoms.

Can anyone tell me what is happening and what can be done to help the tree?

Thanks
Tim
