we nearly had a flood New Years day & since I had built about a foot high burm out front I sowed wildflower seed all along the top of it for esthetics & to hold it together purposes. These have sprouted well so I planted 3ft of a new wide row with Fall veggie seed I had, a mixture of lettuces, carrot, kohlrabi, spinach, radish, onion etc. I expect to see some plants in 10 days or so. I also sowed this thickly to crowd out the pernicious weeds wich have begun to sprout in the bare spaces. The cover crop of annual rye planted last fall is knee high now. Cheers

Sounds like fun, kabuti. It will be a couple of months yet before I'll be able to plant any seeds outdoors, but I've started a little indoor seeding. My winter rye is only a couple of inches tall right now, but when the weather warms, it should take off.
