Hi some one mentioned that Sevin would be a good product to use if you have insects eating your plants. Is this a good product or not? Does it work? I have Japanese Beetles eating all my flowering plants. I need to some how make certain they don't come back next year. Any helpful hints would be great. God bless

It does work, but use the spray not the powder or you have plants that look like you just dusted them with talc. Both of them will wash off with rain, so they need to be reapplied often. Unfortunately, you can't prevent them from coming back next year. Japanese Beetles start out as grubs in your lawn, and there is a product you can put on the lawn to kill the grubs.

Do you know the name of that product? If I can stop them from coming back as bad next year. Then I will do it. I have had a pretty bad infestation.

I think one brand is called Grubex? There are several brands. They have them at Lowe's, etc. in the section where the large bags of lawn fertilzer are kept. I think you spread it on the lawn in July or August.

My mom had her yard treated and still got TONS of beatles because she was the only one in the neighborhood to do it. So if you live in a subdivision or something like it, you are just wasting your time treating the yard because they will just come from everyone elses!!!

I live in the country, but we do have close neghbors. But they also take care of their lawns too. So I am going to take my chances.

I treated my yard with milky spore when we first moved here and haven't really had trouble with JB's since. Oh yes, we have an occasional beetle but it isn't bad. And getting rid of the grubs helped get rid of the moles.

Gailo, I read that if you have a bad infestation. You might want to use an insecticide also. Would Grubex work along with milky spore? Milky spore sounds like a product that just keeps working were as Grubex, only kills what is there at the time. I just got the Grubex. So I don't want to waste it, but would like to have the long lasting affect. That milky spore seems to give. Also where can you get the milky spore from? Do I have to order off line? I also have a seed spreader, can you use that with the milky spore, to spread it around?
