my neighbour trimmed their grapevine and i took some clipings and stuck them in the ground about afoot apart form one another and watered them a few times today - its pretty warm here already. did the right thing? what else should i do to help them grow. my area is well known for growing grapes, there are even winepresses near my house from the days if the second temple(how many of you can say that!? lol)
also i have a small clipping of myrtle that i would love to have grow in to big bush. what can i do to helpit along. right now it is in my garden protected by a plastic cup that i cut the bottom off of (it can get windy here and it just looks so fragile) thanks for you advice

thanks for the link!! my neighbour came over today and gave me some advice - i needed to cut the cliping shorter. he said that it is a little late to plant the grapes now but i am still hoping that they will take. i also "built" a border of rocks around the area too warn my kids not to pass the line and ruin the little fledglings. i never knew how many rocks (and large one i had hiding under all those weeds!)
