Hi all~

It's been a while, but we got back from Puerto Rico last Wednesday, and I was a bit under the weather.

Now that I'm catching up with things, I thought I'd share some pictures of my first cucumbers that I harvested last Friday.

There is a quarter placed between them for size. The longer one is about 17 inches, and the other 12".

The next 2 pictures show my "nutso" husband "modeling" the cucumbers! [nutz]

Well!!! [Big Grin]

Your husband would have had a really good time with the cukes my neighbor brought me!

She asked me if I wanted "some" cucumbers, and I said "O.K."

She brought me THREE big boxes of them!!! [shocked]
OVER 200!!!
What was I supposed to do with that many cucumbers? [nutz]
But, I never thought about modeling with them at the time! [Big Grin]

Lynne,
I am sorta glad he DIDN'T get any MORE ideas [thinker] of HOW [shocked] to model them, [Embarrassed] [Wink] [Big Grin]

I did that with some zucchini's one year,
we had some fun with them!!! [Wink]

Weezie

P/S What kind are they? Those English kind???

we grow the pickling ones...and let them get big!

YOU GUYS!!! [Embarrassed] [Frown] [shocked]

I'm waaaaaay too innocent to have had my mind where you 2 went!!! [Big Grin] [Roll Eyes] [Embarrassed]

Don't know what kind of cucumbers they are, Weezie. Just your ordinary, regular, ol' cucumbers that I bought late in the season at HD.

Cindy - what did you ever end up doing with that many? I can't imagine...

[Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin] WEEZIE!!! I first wrote "Well, glad you just put the "Rated PG" pictures on here!", then my better judgement deleted all but the "Well!!!" [Big Grin]

I hate to tell you what I did the cucumbers...
I threw most of them in the garbage! I asked several people if they wanted some, and everyone would say "Sure!", but I guess they wanted me to deliver them in a basket with a ribbon on it!

(Weezie's freaking out right now [shocked] thinking about COMPOST!!!)

Cindy - your "WELL" spoke volumes!!! [Big Grin] [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

My husband even laughed at that last night!
My 14 year old daughter COULD NOT BELIEVE
that I would post those pictures of him - and I quote...
"no one will write back to you after you post those -
you are INSANE! OUT OF YOUR MIND! CRAZY!"

ahhhhh... teenagers - they are so easily embarassed!!! [thumb] [Big Grin] [dunno] [Embarrassed]

Well, you can tell her I saw the post right after you posted it, but waited 2 hours to reply! I literally had to RESTRAIN myself to keep from replying right off the bat! [Big Grin]

I can remember when my daughter (now 29) was 14! EVERYTHING that I did embarrassed [Embarrassed] her! Can you imagine having a mom like me when you are a teenager? It must have been pure hell for her!

Your cucumber post made my day! [thumb]

I don't know, you girls... this place is getting a little too risque for innocent minds like mine! [shocked] [Embarrassed] [Big Grin]

Maybe my daughter was right, and I shouldn't have posted the pictures after all!

But seriously, I'm glad you're having fun with it - he loves knowing he's the topic of conversation here! [grin] [nutz] [dunno]

Great cucumbers.....I've been bombarded with a ton of them myself......my dad grows them and he has way too many.....too many for us all to eat...it's a shame letting them go to waste, but what can you do? [dunno]
