I have an 8 year old bonsai tree that has gone through terrible trauma... I just noticed that it is in dire need of transplant,but it is too cold to do so.
My children have dumped it several times as well as my cat as eaten the leaves. can anyone help?

Hello Spring,

I found these sites on another forum here perhaps there is info there...

http://www.bonsaigardener.org/

Also if you do a forum search for "bonsai" you will find all sorts of post related to them... and maybe post a question there. Cause once you click they "email notification" button at the bottom of the post - they will get an email in the inbox saying "new posts to this subject" might help. Have you found the "email notification" button yet? It took me a while to figure that it, it is much better cause then you don't have to keep checking back to see if someone posted it will just ... email you ...lol.

What is it you need help with--
a. The transplanting;
b. the kids;
c. the cat ?

You may need a safer environment for the tree, but I bet Google will come up with a good selection of helpful sites by using just the keyword Bonsai . It's a pretty wide discussion topic.

I think it is the location no matter where I put it something seems to bother it. I know it is comming back a little but I am not sure weather I need to trim it back a lot or what!

I surfed around a couple of bonsai sites, and here's one which may have a few useful tips on bonsai care. Bonsai West
What kind of tree are you using, and are you able to keep it dormant in the winter ? (Read the part on Cold Hardy Trees)
