Now I remember what else I was going to put in my other post...
My Amaryllis leaves have brown oval spots all over the leaves. Actually they are little oval bumps. Could that be scale? How do I get rid of them?

Safer's soap works on scale. Or you can mix up 1/2 cup of rubbing alcohol in a pint of water and spray it on. They should rub off easily once they're dead. My amaryllis had the same problem.

Thanks obywan59, I will do that. Does scale spread from leaf to leaf? [Smile]

The nymphs (young scale) have legs and can move around, and the females also can move for a brief period before they become immobile and begin producing eggs. The males have wings and can fly several feet, but they only live to mate and then die.
