It's FREE to download your pictures too.... Then you can attach the URL from the place you choose, copy and paste the URL, then click on the IMAGE botton, and insert the URL into there. *there will be a highlighted blue http:/ thing there, either delete it or click your backspace button to get rid of it
I hope this helps.. I personally have PHOTOBUCKET....it's very easy to put your photo's on..and we here, don't have to be a member to actually view them here....
P/S There's some other gardener's that do use pictures alot and maybe able to help you alot better than I did, Afgreyparrot/Cindy, Loz, Jiffy, Plants~n~Pots/Lynne, Carly....tons of them know how and can give you a hand if you need it....

This is the husband of the member. I think I can help you in some questions you asked.

Do you upload, or cut and paste?
Thanks, Maryann
First you find an image host like the poster above suggested and follow the guidelines in the TOS. I myself use http://imageshack.us/
I then do what the instructions say. Then save the bookmark so I can access the account.
This is were is becomes fun. On most forums there is a thing called tags.. They look like this. [tag]content[/tag] For me quoting you, I inserted quote instead of tag and content was what I wanted to show in the box. For images it is about the same. Instead you replace QUOTE] with [img]. Then in between put the url of the picture you would like to show.
I will omit the first bracket and give an example of how this looks(minus the first[.) quote]Hello world
Result
quote:Hello world
img]http://img349.imageshack.us/img349/9051/pict00022nr.jpg[/img] Result: (dont forget to add the [ )
This is how the tags look without the first bracket([). Hope this helps you. Also you should resize images prior to linking them. IT can sometimes break the table, if the site does not have the code in the vB. I like on my site having 480x640 or smaller. It makes it kinder on dial up users.

I put some pictures on Photobucket and copied the URL, but I'm not sure where Im supposed to paste it. When I clicked on the IMAGE button I got the highlighted http:/ thing, but once I deleted that I lost my ability to paste anything, so I wasn't able to put the URL in there. What am I missing or doing wrong?

When that highlighted http: comes up in the box, you don't even need to click on it to erase it. Just hit your backspace key and it will disappear...then paste your url there.
Let me know if that works for you!

I did all that, but the problem is that once I click on the image button, I lose my ability to paste anything, because the copy & paste botton on Internet Explorer is no longer active.

OK...PLAN B ...if you will copy the BOTTOM line under the photo in photobucket, (says "Img") you can just paste it directly into your post without clicking that image button at all!

Okay Cindy, I'm going to try Plan B. I have one more question how do I know if the size of my pictures are under the required limit? I didn't see anything at Photobucket that told me what the size was. Thanks a bunch!!! Here goes!!!

Click on the picture (the thumbnail) and then it will show what the picture will look like when it's posted. Right underneath the picture they have the size of it for you.
Cute kitty!

Thanks argreyparrot! I'll go back to Photobucket and check on the sizes. I'm not sure what caused the white area around the photo.
This is "Boogie Bear", and he's a sweetheart! I raised him and his brother after they were left on my doorstep late one night. They didn't even have their eyes open when I got them. My friend took the other one, but this one is the love of my life.
Thanks to everyone for all their help with the photo thing, and to put everyone's mind at ease, I'm a little better at gardening stuff than I am with computers.
Have a wonderful day!

Weeezie, his name is "Boogie Bear" because he reminded me of a little teddy bear when I first got him.
