It's mostly canned food and wet food (gravy) in pouches . . .

Go here for the info:

http://www.menufoods.com/recall/Press_Recall_03162007.htm

This is most of North America!

There's a number you can call . . .

1-866-895-2708.

I don't know what's happening in your town, but here in Toronto the grocery stores are clearing the shelves.

Anything that has a March expiry date is being replaced immediately.

Our cat Skitter is safe - the only 'pouched' food she eats is Temptations (treats) a couple times a week. That isn't on the recall list.

She also has Our Compliments Brand seafood once a week, but that isn't on the list. The last time she had that was Friday - the vet's office told us she wouldn't be affected by that.

Her usual food is Purina (dry food). And that's not on the list either.

Whew! So that's our cat; she's ok. But I'm still concerned about other people's animals in Canada and the US.

There are some people who just go to work, come home, feed their cat and don't bother with the news.

We're informing people in the apartment building here, just in case they haven't heard about it.

If you folks can think of pet owners that might not know about this, please spread the news.

If you're not sure if your pet's food is ok or not, phone the vet's office - they'll know.

Oh, I didn't know that.

OK - just ignore this one then.
