Just joined...and am happy to be here. I have had several vegetable gardens in the past. Have been in Sedona, AZ for 4 years and had one successful garden so far. (at about the 4500' altitude) Am considering doing a winter garden...any suggestions? Don't know my USDA zone...is that the same zone system found in the Western Garden book? I have a large raised bed garden (30 x 20'). Also want to go organic and get either organic seeds or organic tiny plants. Any good sources? Thanks! Jim.

Triss...absolutely love your resolution. For some reason, I'm recalling what a horticulture teacher in high school said to me (way, way back). He said: "Weeds...why weeds are still plants...just in the wrong place". But yes...to walk and live in joy and peace...as we till the soil...plant the seeds...and behold...the miracle of new growth and abundance. Blessings...Jim.

Thanks Jim. I just do not think you can grow anything, be it a garden or children and not see the blessing that come from both!

Hello, Jim. I'm glad you could join us. The usda zones are not the same as our Sunset Western gardening book. It's nice to know both. When it comes down to the nitty-gritty though, the Sunset book will be more exact for you. It is invaluable in my California garden.
welcome to a great place.
