made it!.. finally!!.... eager to see what's what around here.... I was here a LONG time ago when this board first opened...got lost, thanks to a cranky old computer, but have found my way back now.... hope to enjoy the folks and the info here as much as I do on a few other boards about gardening!....
I'm a plant-a-holic and happy to be so.... I have a ten-yr garden that changes yearly... don't think 'done' ever happens in a garden!
my 'specialties' are soil, lasagna beds, crepe mytles and hydrangea... big on hostas, too... extensive shade beds, small greenhouse and time to have fun out there...took Master Gardener classes and got certified a couple years back.... happy to look up info at any time...pretty good with Google and my textbooks...eager to help where I can....
see y'all on the forums!!....

I'm very new to gardening, and I have alot of questions. I have 2 very pretty fuschia hanging plants. How do I car for them in the winter? Should I plant them in the ground at some point, or leave them in the hanging pots? This is the first year I've had these plants, and they are so beautiful that I don't want to get this wrong and kill them. I live in growing zone 5. upper state pennsylvania.

Hi LorrieG. Fuschias are lovely plants and look so nice in hanging baskets. However, they are considered an annual in Pa. I live in Southcentral Pa. Around Harrisburg. Don't plant them in the ground. They will not make it through our winters. I never tried to over-winter them in the house, so I can't give you any advice on that. I'm sure there is someone who will come along who will know. Hope to see you around the forums. Sue
